Christmas with the Classics - Piano 4-hand Collection (Sacred Masterpieces Celebrating the Birth of Christ)

Level 2+ • Aside from carols and hymns, another kind of music makes up an important part of the Christmas tradition: the sacred masterpieces of the great classical composers. Larry Shackley has selected seven Baroque and Romantic works, including organ pieces, solo songs and arias, and movements from cantatas and oratorios, adapting and arranging them for two players at one piano. The moods vary from soft, pastoral meditations to lively expressions of joyful praise. Suitable for preludes or interludes in your church services or as special numbers in holiday concerts, these four-hand arrangements will expand your musical horizons this Christmas season.Contents: Gloria (First Movement) (Antonio Vivaldi); Mary’s Lullaby (Max Reger); Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming (Johannes Brahms); Variations on a Swiss Carol (Louis Claude Daquin); Prelude (from the "Christmas Oratorio") (Camille Saint-Saëns); Prepare Thyself, Zion (from the "Christmas Oratorio") (Johann Sebastian Bach); Pastorale (from the "Christmas Concerto") (Arcangelo Corelli)
