Setting Sail (from A Sailor's Journey)

Setting Sail (from A Sailor's Journey) (Sheet)

By Melody Bober

Opening with a sailor's hornpipe feel and moving briskly with fun and easy octaves, this playful piece develops into a rollicking seaman's shanty. Harmonic fifths and sixths in the left hand provide an easy accompaniment that allows the pianist to focus on the jaunty melody. We cannot imagine any student who wouldn't want to learn this energetic piece.
